Controversial Mega Church Leader, Bishop Eddie L. Long, Passed Away From Cancer

The leader a of 25,000 member mega church, in DeKalb County Georgia, Bishop Eddie L. Long has died from cancer. 

The Sixty three-year old was the senior pastor for the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, had been diagnosed with cancer. Long had started practicing a vegan diet to battle the killer disease and subsequently lost a lot of weight.

Long left behind his second wife Vanessa Griffin and four children: Edward, Eric, Jared and Taylor.

The charismatic pastor started his church with about 300 members, it grew into one of the largest congregations into the nation. In the past, Long has been investigated by the US Senate concerning his tax-exempt status and whether he’d benefited from the same. He was found not guilty.

He was also accused by some parishioners of sexual abuse. He settled those cases out of court… without any admission of guilt.

  Bishop Eddie L. Long dead at 63, will be missed by his flock and family members.
