FBI Director Comey’s Bombshell Testimony Could Sink The Trump’s Presidency.
Former FBI Director Comey tries to clear his name after President Trump gave him the boot for not dropping his investigation into former NSA Director Michael Flynn’s ties to White House overseer Vladimir Putin and his meddling into the 2016 Presidential election.
On Wednesday, Comey released a 7-page draft of his anticipated testimony, in regards to his nine private meetings and telephone conversations he had with the president.
While in some quarters Comey’s Testament is viewed as sour grapes because he did not release statements on the interactions with POTUS or come forward until he was fired by Trump…
Other opined that Comey did complain to (his boss) Attorney General Jeff Sessions about Trump’s insistence on contacting and badgering him about Flynn and the Russian probe.
Sessions who most people view as a corrupt and permanent surrogate of President Trump did not do anything to rectify or resolve the issue — but more or less reported Comey’s statement to Trump.
On one of POTUS and Comey’s one and one meeting, this is a part of the Director’s recall.
He described the Russia investigation as “a cloud” that was impairing his ability to act on behalf of the country. He said he had nothing to do with Russia, had not been involved with hookers in Russia, and had always assumed he was being recorded when in Russia. He asked what we could do to “lift the cloud.”
The hearing started out with Senator Richard Burr (R) Chairman of the Intelligence Committee trying to sound and balance, however, proved himself to be partisan with his leading set of questions designed to vindicate President Trump.
Burr appeared more like a Donald Trump defense attorney than a Senator hired by the American people.
On the other hand, Vice Chair Mark Warner (D) Intelligence Committee reminds the public that this hearing is about Russia’s hacking into the presidential election.
Comey testified that he understood that he served at the pleasure of the President, even though FBI directors are appointed to ten-year terms, as enacted by Congress.
Comey testified that he has no doubt that the Russians invaded the American electoral process but that the interference had no effect on the end results.
He went on to say that the reason for documenting his meeting with Trump was because of the nature of the President as a liar.
Other Senators who acted as defense attorneys for Trump and as accessories to the perceived obstruction of justice, during the hearing, was James Risch (R) Idaho and Marco Rubio (R) Florida.
Senators Susan Collins (R) Maine and Martin Heinrich (D) New Mexico should be commended for being the least partisan, professional and independent than all of their colleagues on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
