The artist who would be king: Capleton.
He has as many aliases as hit records. VP recording artist Clifton George Bailey III AKA King David, King Shango, The Fireman and The Prophet will be forced to prophesy his way out of jail come Monday morning.
On Friday evening Capleton turned himself into authorities, at the Halfway Tree police prescient and is being held until the courts are open on Monday, where his lawyer will seek to get him released on his recognizance.
It’s been reported that earlier the Dancehall star was introduced to a young woman, with whom he had a sexual romp.
The person who procured the woman for Capleton has not been named.
After the encounter, the woman claims that she wasn’t feeling well, at which time Capleton gave her JA $40, 000.00. (about 320 US Dollars) to see a doctor.
It is not clear if the young woman and her procurer made a demand for more money, but somewhere along the line, the woman filed a complaint against Capleton. It is yet to be determined if the rape allegation was based on force or if it was statutory.
According to his manager Claudette Kemp, “Demands were being made of the artist, and he decided to make a report to the police.”
Well, Ms. Claudette, it is not the norm for the police to arrest the victim(s) of blackmail or extortion unless the blackmailable act of the “victim” was illegal in the first place.
The fifty-one-year-old Capleton also is associated with Polygram Records, Def Jam, Rude Boy and has his recording label named David House Productions.
Well, it also was the pum, pum that brought down the Biblical King David.
He was scheduled to perform in Miami at a Memorial Day show on May 28, 2018.
