Gun enthusiast murders Seventeen High School Students.
Panicked Parents And First Responders Raced Towards Danger.
Police are saying Nikolaus Cruz, a former student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas H.S. is responsible for entering the campus at 5901 NW Pine Island Road, Parkland, FL 33076 and killing at least seventeen people.
Nineteen-year-old Cruz was no longer a member of the student body, but he was well known to other students as a gun-enthusiast who like to display his weapons to his classmates.
Other Stoneman Douglas High students were petrified of Cruz and described him as “weird and socially inept”
School officials said that the shooter, because of his passion for guns, he was barred from entering school grounds with a book bag.
Stoneman Douglass High is situated in Parkland, a well-to-do neighborhood classified as the 16th safest place to live in the United States.
At about 2:30p.m. Cruz entered the building pulled the fire alarm and commenced his rampage. There were several students who, at first, thought the blaring sound of the alarm was another “drill” in progress, but once it was discovered that an active shooter was on campus everyone went into “Run, Hide, Fight” mode as they have been taught.
The NRA has not stepped in yet to defend Cruz and thus the murders of those killed; as the organization is known to do after each mass shooting.
President Trump has been briefed on the incident but is yet to speak publicly on the incident.
Cruz was taken into custody without incident, by police, but was later transported by ambulance to North Broward Hospital for brief observation. From there he was taken to Broward Sheriff Office Headquarters (on Broward Boulevard and NW 27th Avenue for further questioning.
BSO Sheriff Scott Israel said, “There are no words to described what happened.”
In the age of cell phones, most of the student body were in touch with their parents giving them a blow-by-blow of what was taking place at the school.
