The event seems like a famous line from the classic movie, “The Godfather,”  where Michael Corleone (head of the Corleone Family) declares: Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

Just when Serena thought she was out of the hood, they pulled her back in? Or perhaps, the line should be, she left the hood, but the hood never left her.

The hood forever lies dormant in her waiting for the right trigger to propel it into motion, and Saturday’s retaliatory ruling from a sexist umpire (Carlos Ramos) was that trigger.

Australians’ view of Serena Williams

It’s getting harder and harder to escape the hood; it doesn’t matter how much money some people make.

Serena Williams even tried marrying a white man to mask her core and formative years from a poor section of Michigan.

The Women Tennis Associations (WTA) ranked her world No. 1 in singles on eight separate occasions between 2002 and 2017.

Some people fans of Williams points out a double standard at work in the world when it comes to the treatment of men tennis players vs. female players.

As an example, they correctly point to former Tennis pro player John McEnroe (“the bad boy of tennis”) who was known for throwing temper tantrums on the court during tournaments — without incurring many penalties.

several years ago, Soul Singer Betty Wright penned a song entitled “Girls, You Can’t Do What The Guys Do And Still Be A Lady.” I guess in Ramos’ eyes, Betty was right.

Umpire Carlos Ramos slapped Williams with a $17,000 fine for smashing and breaking her racket and yelling at Ramos because she disagreed with one of his rulings after she was caught being coached by her trainer from the bleachers.

Williams also threatened to have Ramos banned from any tennis tournament in which she’s a contestant.

Twenty-year-old Haitian-Japanese Noami Osaka beat Williams, the loss to Osaka caused Williams to become irate.

Osaka was born in Japan to a Japanese mother and a Haitian father. Since beating Serena, Osaka has signed multiple endorsements deals with mega companies such as Nissan, Adidas, and Nissin Foods.
