Two White Gang Members Arrested in Murder of Black Jogger, a third member remains at large.
On the 23rd of February 2020, a 25-year-old man (Ahmaud Arbery) went jogging for the last time — 76 days before his 26th birthday.
As Arbery jogged along Satilla Drive, in a rural Georgia community(Satilla Shores), three modern-day redneck moonshiners spotted him: 64-year-old Gregory McMichaels, 34-year-old Travis McMichaels, and another neighborhood resident/gangbanger William Bryan.
The father and son McMichaels team gathered their rifles while William Bryan prepared his cell phone camera to go on what they believed to be game hunting. As Arbery continued his jog, the McMicahels pulled in front of him to block his path with their pick-up truck.
Arbery attempted to jog around the truck but was confronted by Travis McMichaels, who had exited his vehicle brandishing a long gun. Travis tried to kidnap Abery, and a struggle ensued.
Within eight seconds of struggling, someone fired three shots. One bullet entered the right hand of Abery, and one penetrated his torso. It is not clear who fired the 3rd round. The DA won’t say if Travis fired it, nor is it clear if the elder McMichaels fired that shot.
George Zimmerman-style Stalk and kill with impunity in Georgia — challenged.
The murder of Ahmad Abery came almost eight years to the date of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was stalked and then killed on the 26th of February, 2012, by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida.
As soon as Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman, it is the belief of many that the Sanford Police sprang into action to tamper with the crime scene and fabricate “evidence.”
After George Zimmerman’s trial that was presented to a jury of simps by a weak prosecutor Angela Corey — Zimmerman was found “Not Guilty.” Zimmerman, supported by Go-Fund Me bigots, ever since his release has been nothing more than a menace to society.
Two of three vigilantes, aided and abetted by three Georgia District Attorneys — arrested.
The Arbery shooting was captured on a cellphone camera shot by William Bryan. One the day if the killing the video footage was turned over to the police and the DA’s office. For about 72 days, in an attempt to conceal evidence, District Attorney Jackie Johnson sat on the Arbery shooting video/evidence, while refusing to charge the McMichaels.
He recently retired from his job as an investigator for District Attorney Jackie Johnson’s Office.
Gregory McMichaels, a former Glynn County police officer, once worked for the Brunswick DAs office as an investigator. Gregory McMichaels also worked as an investigator for DA George E. Barnhill, the initial prosecutor on the case. Barnhill recused himself citing a conflict of interest — after sitting on the video for weeks — the New York Times is reporting.
The original prosecutor, George E. Barnhill of Georgia’s Waycross Judicial Circuit, noted that the McMichaels were carrying their weapons legally under Georgia law. He also cited the state’s citizen’s arrest statute and the statute on self-defense.
Mr. Barnhill argued that Mr. Arbery, who appeared to be unarmed, had initiated the fight with Travis McMichael, so Mr. McMichael was “allowed to use deadly force to protect himself.” — District Attorney George E Barnhill.
A third (outside prosecutor) Tom Durden said he wants a grand Jury to oversee the case, while he sat on evidence. He had said Monday that he wished to a grand jury to decide whether charges are warranted.
It was not until a local radio station released the video, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) stepped in at the request of Durden in were charges filed on Thursday.
Both McMichaels was charged with murder and aggravated assault. Bond was denied for the two men.
