By all appearances, Steve Harvey was sober enough, this year, to crown the correct competitor as Miss Universe 2017 — France, Iris Mittenaere.
Mittenaere is 24 years old and is pursuing a degree in dental surgery.
Coming in behind the new Miss Universe is Miss Haiti, Raquel Pelisiere, followed by Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar.
When asked by Harvey about how Colombians feel about him, Tovar revealed that Colombians hate him.
Get over it already. The fact is she did not win the competition.
All night, darts have been thrown at Miss Kenya (Mary Esther Were). She was given a tough question. When asked about Donald Trump’s Presidency, she somehow uttered the words that “Trump has unified the country.” Them there is fighting words for many Americans.
Maybe next time, they’ll ask her about how to win a Marathon race. Oops! Slip of the tongue/typewriter.
Reality check… Americans know different. Perhaps something got lost in translation. And although, her English is much better than my “Kenyan,” I’ve opted to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Set all that aside, the 27-year-old Miss Kenya is stunningly beautiful, articulate and come across as very intelligent, with a Crest Toothpaste smile.
