Homeowner Killed By Police… Burglar Taken Into Custody Unscathed

A “Funky” Situation All The Way Around.

A 57-year old homeowner was shot and killed by Pittsburgh Police responding to a burglar alarm that went off.

The intruder a 23-year-old male, identified as  Juan Jetter-Clark was taken into custody unhurt.

 

Homeowner Christopher Thompkins was in bed with his ex-wife (Brenda Richmond Thompkins) when he spotted Jetter-Clark nearby. He grabbed Brenda’s gun, gave chase and was shot by responding officers on his front porch.

Police are reporting that Thompkins died in a horrible chain of events, on Sunday.

So far, Jetter-Clark has been charged with criminal trespass, other charges are pending.While Chris Thompkins chased Jetter-Clark down the steps that lead to the first floor, his ex-wife jumped out of a second-floor bedroom window and fled down the street.

 Since the January 22 shooting, police still haven’t recovered a gun carried by the intruder.

Present in the home also at the time of the shooting was Thompkins’ wheelchair bound mother.

Thompkins worked as a dialysis technician.
