Some Of Hollywood’s Brightest Stars Shine @ The 2017 Golden Globe Awards Show

Meryl Streep: Cecil B. de Mille 2017 Recipient

“Shine Bright Like A Diamond”

John Travolta appeared on stage (at the Golden Globe Awards) looking about 30 years younger than 10 Hollywood Plastic Surgeons’ face-lifts.

Tonight Hollywood sparkled with its glitz, glamour and star-lights. The 2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet event hosted by funnyman Jimmy Fallon, on NBC, lived up to its hype.

Fallon, who had some big shoes to fill, following behind Richard Gervais (2016 host of the Globes) and his fellow Saturday Night Live alumna Tina Fey — 2014 host — came out swinging like a prize fighter… landing most of his punches straight to the funny bones of his audience — even as his  teleprompter gave out. For the remainder of the evening most of Fallon’s jokes fell flat like a “b – note” coming out of Mariah Carey’s mouth at her last live performance.

Host Of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Ryan Seacrest (of American Idol fame)  and Giuliana Rancic started the run up to the show, at 6:00 p.m., with a two-hour Red Carpet special, interviewing celebs as they trod the Read Carpet.

Fallon started singing a “Room full of stars, some from movies, some from TV. Room full of stars some getting drugs since the age of three.”

The song lyrics were similar to Gervais’ opening monologue from last year ceremony.

“Welcome to Hollywood, where the popular vote still means something.

Game of Thrones, and Manchester By The Sea were the first two shows mentioned at the top of the show.

The first winner of the night was Aaron-Taylor Johnson for “Nocturnal Animals,” Supporting Actor – Motion Picture.

While the second winner went to Billy Bob Thornton (his 2nd win) for Actor… TV series – drama.

Tracee Ellis Ross won for Black-ish, a very important show that speaks “kinda/sorta” through the eyes and voices of women of color.

Perhaps Ross didn’t expect to win, because it took her all of fifty seconds to get to the stage, as she came running from what looks like the back of the room.

Actress Sara Paulson won for The People v. O.J. Simpson: An American Crime Story. This of course was not a surprise win, as all know that angry White America will reward anything that puts Simpson in a bad light. Paulson played the role of Prosecutor Marcia Clarke.

The show had three straight nominations in a row and won two awards in a row. La La Land was nominated for seven Golden Globes and won five.

Other winners include: Zootopia, France, The Night Manager (2nd win for the night), Atlanta, the Crown racked up two wins.

Legendary actor Meryl Streep enjoyed the honor of being given the Cecil B. de Mille award given by the Foreign Press Association for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.”

Streep also asked her fellow actors to join her in her support for The Committee to Protect Journalists — in light of the in coming Administration threats against the Free Press and journalists.
