Gifted song writer: blue-eyed soul singer George Michael died today. The cause of the singer’s death is yet to be determined… but authorities have ruled out foul play.
The singer who started out as one half of the musical Duo Wham! Michael also participated in recording of the hit song “Do They Know It’s Christmas? A song written by Geldof to raise awareness of the sufferings millions of starving children on the Continent of Africa.
Reportedly, the artist has sold over 100 million records as part of the group Wham! and as a solo artist.
Michael who was born in London England to Greek immigrant parents, was a charitable person. He wrote the hit song: Careless Whisper, at the age of seventeen. The song went on to sell millions of copies in the United States and around the world.
In the 90s George came out as a gay man and championed gay causes. He continued to record and release provocative music. His family has asked for privacy during the time of their loss.
One of his biggest hits and signature songs “Last Christmas,” will now become herald to a final punctuation mark to his career with Wham! and as a solo artist.
